Gail S Kotowski

Gail is a practicing attorney who has had a lifelong passion for painting, photography and sewing. Art quilts have allowed her to combine all these elements into a composite form. She did not start quilting until her children were of a sufficient age, so not to be deemed neglected. Nature is her inspiration and most of her quilts are realistic interpretations of places she has visited. Marine life is a recurrent theme, as she grew up in a beach town and still sails on Long Island Sound. She has also focused on mountain scenes, inspired by the area around her Vermont cabin.

Gail is a member of SAQA, the Shoreline Quilters Guild and the Mt. Laurel Artisans. Public installations of murals are located at Waterbury Hospital and the Department of Motor Vehicles (Old Saybrook). Additionally she has participated in the Lyman House Show house to benefit the YMCA.

She has exhibited in the Shoreline area of Connecticut and has been accepted into several juried shows, the most recent is a current exhibit at the Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library. Her pieces are in private collections in Wellington, New York City, as well as throughout Connecticut. She currently has pieces for sale at Tallulah
